China is persecuting the Uyghurs, says Ru Xian. Rushan Abbas, the founder of the “Uyghur Movement”. Addressing a press conference in Taipei, Ru Xian bitterly complained that the CCP is committed to assimilating the Uyghurs, eradicating their religion and culture, and curbing the growth of the Uyghur population. Women and children are the first to bear the brunt of the victims. Uyghur women are forced to have abortions, sexually assaulted, and even have to share beds with Han men who are stationed at home to monitor them.

The CCP also provides Han men with preferential treatment such as jobs, housing, and loans, and encourages them to inter-marry. Uyghur women are hard to refuse due to the threat of detention; Uyghur women who were imprisoned in concentration camps were sexually abused by CCP officials. “The bodies of Uyghur women have become the battlefield of Uyghur genocide.”

She further revealed that the CCP implemented the “Pomegranate Flower Project” to make Uyghur children into “family” with children from all over China. More than one million Uyghur children were forcibly separated from their parents and placed in state-run orphanages and boarding schools, let them grow up in an environment far away from Uyghur culture. Due to their unique language, culture and religious beliefs, the Uyghurs have suffered atrocities under the comprehensive monitoring of the CCP, and this kind of authoritarian colonization will continue to expand globally.

He Chaodong, chairman of the Taiwan East Turkestan Association, added that currently one out of every six Uyghurs is locked up in concentration camps. The CCP uses advanced monitoring methods such as biometrics, which is like a large-scale experimental field.

Idris, executive director of the Uyghur Research Center in Washington, said that East Turkestan used to have its own government and army. It signed a peace agreement with the CCP in 1949 and was promised to maintain its independence. However, he has not been able to contact his local relatives for many years.
