Human chain against Chinese ‘attack-case’ in Bangladesh

A human chain was held Thursday in the Pirojpur district of Bangladesh, which was the scene of protests against the Chinese.
Hundreds of people took part in the rally under the aegis of banner of ‘Sachetan Nagarik Samaj’ at Pagla in Narayanganj.
The protestors asserted that the false charges were hoisted on the locals after a clash with the Chinese workers on May Day. “Withdraw the cases’, they thundered holding placards that read “attackers were aggressive Chinese Business Minded People.”

The protestors have threatened to intensify their agitation “if the case is not withdrawn”.
On May Day, residents of the area obstructed work related to the construction of an embankment at Mathbaria, as also acquisition of land for the project.
The rally had a message to the Chinese embassy in Dhaka too. “Warn your engineers, citizens and workers against creating violence again,” speakers at the human chain told the Chinese authorities, according to a report on Beijing News Net.
